Provide guidance to Goodyear Commercial Tire and Service Centers (GCTSC) leadership on the application of GCTSC policies, state and federal employment law, collective bargaining agreements, interviewing and selection process, and compensation among other HR related areas.
Manage the Human Resource team in supporting the organization in the areas of recruiting, compliance, and associate development.
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in state and federal employment law and make necessary changes to GCTSC policies/practices to ensure compliance.
Translate the strategic and tactical business plans generated by GCTSC/Goodyear leadership into HR operational plans.
Guide Region Leadership and HR Specialists on the consistent application of GCTSC policy and compliance to various state and federal laws.
Work with GCTSC and Region leadership to manage staffing levels at all levels of the organization. Manage the relationship with GCTSC's recruiting vendor to support the filling of positions to support the business plan and ensure the timely filling of positions.
Work with Goodyear Senior Counsel and external legal counsel to resolve HR Employment matters and support the efforts to resolve legal issues on behalf of GCTSC. Includes being a Subject Matter Expert for GCTSC policy and practices as well as providing information to legal counsel in a timely manner.
Manage policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the corporation. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.
Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
Bachelor's Degree or 10-12 years related experience in administering HR policies in an operations/manufacturing/retail setting
Masters Degree preferred
5 -7 years of experience in administering human resources policies in an operations/manufacturing/retail setting
Previous experience managing others
Previous experience in working with EEO, AAP, and other compliance related areas
Previous experience in a union environment (desired but not required)
Experience in resolving conflicts between different parties
Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards
A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement and strong operational focus
A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
An articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
