You will have the opportunity to support the global innovation and product development teams by development of RFID/TPMS and tire electronic solutions for passenger, commercial and race applications. Be part of a global technology development team. Understand business requirements and deliver technology that meets performance, cost and quality standards.
Support development of Goodyear’s strategy in the area of global innovation and tire information systems.
Application of RFID/TPMS (Radio Frequency ID / Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and other sensor technologies to tires.
Work closely with tire designers, manufacturing, customers as well as the hardware and software developers to innovate, develop and support complete product and service solutions. All phases of engineering from System Design to Customer Support.
Coordinate marketing, procurement, legal and technical team members to define, develop and manage working relationships with various external vendors and partners.
Design, debug, installation and support of both Hardware and Software for the developed components/systems.
Select electronic components that are Custom, COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) and a combination of both that will become standalone or integrated products.
Education and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Preferred Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
4-6 years: Development and production of automotive qualified electronic products. Product design and fabrication of prototype electronics.
Testing and measurement of RF electronic performance.
Electronic systems design and specification.
Programming micro-controllers to implement product functions. Definition of system requirements for electronic sensors.
Program and project management. Leading and participating in a cross-functional support team environment, sharing knowledge and experiences with other team members in support of team responsibilities.
Experience in Vehicle Dynamics a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency in statistical design & analysis; cause & effect analysis & risk analysis.
Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology & standardized methods.
Basic organization, communication & experimentation discipline. Practical understanding of science & technology in the appropriate discipline.
Hands On. Digital Signal Processing Algorithm/GUI Development in MATLAB. Proficiency in computer systems and programming.
DAQ/Interfacing of various Analog/Digital Sensors. Wireless Communication and Telemetry Principles and Systems.
